It's Like Riding a Bike
40 essays in around 100 words #7
I learned how to ride a bike at around 6 years old and never looked back. A close friend, 25 years old, is currently learning cycling for the first time. I’m amazed at her determination to learn something hard. I also enjoy hearing her reflections about it. As with so many things in life, holding on to the cycle too tight makes it harder to balance. Letting go of control is an essential part of learning to balance on two wheels. As 7 year olds speed past her repeatedly to show off their superior cycling skills, she inspires me to embrace new and hard things.
