Jesus gives 3 parables where something lost is found, and the one searching for the lost thing always throws a party. He compares these characters to God. And this leaves me with a lot of questions. What would a party thrown by God be like? A somber affair full of sitting silently? Would there be drinking? Dancing? Would men and women intermingle? Does God need to celebrate? Is celebration Godly? Why would God celebrate if He has everything and can do whatever He wants? Somehow a holy celebration doesn’t sound very fun, but a party thrown by God certainly does.
